By accepting the Terms and Conditions of ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES (PTY) LTD you acknowledge that you have inspected the regalia and are satisfied with the condition that the regalia is in. 

ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES agrees to lease the property described in the invoice/contract to the HIRER on the following terms and conditions. 

The HIRER acknowledges that in any case of default of these terms and conditions ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES may require the services of a debt collection agency and legal services at the Hirer’s cost. 

The property that the HIRER takes possession of, as detailed in the invoice/contract/receipt is owned by ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES. 

The HIRER has examined the property and acknowledges that the property is received in good condition and is safe and suitable for its intended use. 

ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES will not be liable in any way in respect of any claim made against the HIRER for any damage caused by the Hirer’s use of the property. 

ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES will not be liable to the HIRER or any third party for any damage or loss resulting from any defect, failure, or breakdown in the property from any cause. Such cause presumes an absence of any negligence on the part of ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES. 

The HIRER agrees to return the property to ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES in the same condition as received, with fair wear and tear accepted, on the return date detailed in the invoice/contract. Unless the invoice/contract is amended to state otherwise, the HIRER will return the property to ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES at its premises or the temporary location noted in the invoice/contract. ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES reserves the right to demand immediate return of the property on any breach of these terms and conditions. ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES reserves the right to charge additional hire time if the property is not returned by the specified date. 

If the property is retained beyond the return date, without the express written permission of ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES, the HIRER renders him or herself liable to arrest for conversion or theft and liable to pay the retail value replacement cost. ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES reserves the right to sue for the breach of the bailment conditions set out in the invoice/contract.

The HIRER agrees to pay ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES the fee, and a Refundable Deposit if that applies, by the due date set out in the invoice/contract. 

The HIRER agrees that he or she will retain possession and control of the property throughout the period of hire. 

The HIRER agrees that he or she is liable to ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES for any loss of property, or part of the property, and may be required to meet the replacement cost of the property. 

ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES reserves the right to retain a cancellation fee on any cancelled bookings be it on hire or purchase. 

We reserve the right to alter and/or add to our hire terms and conditions as required. Any amendments to our terms and conditions will be posted on our website and will be effective immediately upon the posting of those terms and conditions on our website. The hirer is responsible for ensuring that they are aware of the latest terms and conditions and that hire of any items is an acknowledgement by the hirer of our terms 

and conditions as amended. 

The terms and conditions on this website are the terms on which ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES offers the hire of regalia. In hiring any items of regalia the hirer accepts these terms and conditions. If the hirer does not accept these terms and conditions they must not proceed with the hire. 

Returns Policy, Cancellations, Disputes and Purchase of Regalia and Loss or Damage 

Returns 

You must return regalia within the times stated on your invoice/receipt. Failure to do so will incur penalty fees. 

Returns and Late Fees 

You agree to return the regalia in good condition, otherwise you agree that you will be charged the following fees: 

1. Late fees at the original hire rate per every day late; and/or

2. Damage fees at the cost of repairing the item; and/or 

3. Replacement fees at the cost of replacing the item. 

The late fees for any items not returned at the times stated on your invoice will be forwarded to a debt collection agency 7 days after the final reminder being sent to you. 

You agree that if any charges are passed on to a Debt collection agency you will be liable for their fees and recovery costs. 

Cancellations and charges 

You agree to a service charge of 50% for a cancelled order. 

You agree that if you cancel your booking, it will be done at least one week before your ceremony, otherwise you will not be refunded your payment. 

Purchase of Regalia 

All payments for regalia are completely non-refundable upon purchase. 

Unless stated differently above, all collections and returns are at ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES, Unit 4, 48 Salt River Road, Salt River, 7925. 

Loss or Damage 

Whilst ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES will use its best efforts to ensure that the regalia it hires will not cause loss or damage to the hirer’s clothing, ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES is not liable for any loss or damage to the hirer’s clothing of any kind, whether arising directly or indirectly out of the hireage of the regalia. 

Ordering and Paying 

Your order will ship after confirmation of payment is made and approved. No items are considered sold until the item has been fully paid for and dispatched.

SHIPPING-New Regalia 

Once payment is received and confirmed, your order will be picked, packed and labelled and the courier will collect your parcel for delivery. 

REGALIA HIRE 

Once payment is received and confirmed, your order is reserved. All hire stock must be collected during notified periods unless agreed otherwise. 

Deliveries: 

Couriers take 1-3 business days in South Africa to deliver to major metropolitan areas. However, service time may vary between 1 and 5 business days. 

Please ensure you give us an address where someone will be available to sign for and receive your parcel during weekdays. 

We do not deliver items throughout the weekends due to delays in courier deliveries. Shipping Information – Overview 

All parcels are shipped by courier. We aim to send all orders within 3-5 business days of receipt of payment, at which time you will be sent an email that your order has been dispatched. 

You should then allow for up to 3 business days for your package to arrive at your South African address.

Please note that during peak seasonal dates, delivery time frames are longer 

Payment Options & Refunds of Exchanges for Purchased goods 

Below are the methods ACADEMIC APPAREL GOWNS AND ROBES accepts : 

1) EFT 

2) Cash payments at our offices during working hours 

3) Cards payments at our offices during working hours 

Exchanges must be returned and exchanged within 7 days of the original purchase date. Credit will be issued if an exchange in size or colour cannot be made due to stock levels. 

If the goods are faulty we will meet our obligations under the Consumer Protection Act to provide a remedy. All faulty goods must be sent back to Head Office for assessment before exchanges, credit notes or refunds are issued. 

All other return postage is at the customer’s expense. 

The original receipt must be provided for ANY returned regalia as proof of purchase.
